There are no direct flights from North America. The usual route is through Lisbon with TAP Air Portugal or STP Airways, and from the east coast that works out at sixteen to twenty hours door to door depending on the connection. The flight from Lisbon to São Tomé is around seven hours.
If you would rather not cross Europe, ASKY Airlines flies via Lomé in Togo, partnered with Ethiopian Airlines, which opens a route from Newark and Dulles. It is worth pricing both before you commit to a date.
Our holidays are quoted in euros and priced land only. You book your own international flights directly with the airline, with no mark-up from us, and send us the arrival details so the transfers line up. Bring euros or US dollars for the €20 entry fee on arrival, which is paid in cash, and change money in the city rather than at the airport.
Adding Príncipe means a 40 minute domestic flight from São Tomé with strict luggage limits, usually €240 to €280 per person return. Visa rules depend on your passport, so check the visa guide for your nationality before booking flights.
